we are hosting everyone 11 in total - the table is set - the fridge is packed solid - the first of the veg is prepped up - i'm knackered already

The Isle of Whithorn - holiday time

well holiday time again - so this time we all went into Scotland and stayed on the Isle of Whithorn

 this is st.ninnians cave - the birthplace of christianity in scotland - not a 'godbotherer' myself but a surreal place

 lots of crosses and cairns about - some graffiti - some of it from a very long time ago ...........

a bit of out and about

went out and about in old landrovers today

we would go up over the old coach road in the lakes - as it will be clear and no problem as the weather is now better

well so much for that idea .................

well we all made it in the end - lots of digging lots of pushing and pulling and a fair bit of winch action

oh the joys of a simple day out ...............

a little bit of wagon driving history

on the old A6 over shap summit between shap and kendal is this memorial

i'm a driver myself so the sign means more i suppose - but it goes to show the efforts of those who came before us were not all forgotten
it is still a bad road even today-and even with modern wagons - just goes to show........

not enough snow

so we have had a bit of snow - but not enough to make it ineresting
other partes of the country got it but it seems to have largely missed us as yet
so off we went in the landrover and up onto orton scar - where we knew there would be some and yes there was

The youngest's birthday

well another year gone so another birthday
this year we are into tractors

it was made local and and is rather good we think - its got the tractor and even a landrover
- it went down well -

tonight was the bonfire and fireworks at ormside - a good night was had by all !!!!
